Guest guest
Where is it stated that at the time of Gaura's advent, the Navadvipa-vasis engaged in all kinds of superfluous religious activities, including such rituals as marriage ceremonies for cats and dogs? Sacimata's pregnancy went on for thirteen months. Is any special reason for this mentioned in the biographies? In Caitanya-bhagavat Adi Ch. 6 it is described that when Nimai saw that certain brahmanas he had harrassed (while they were bathing) were going to complain to Jagannatha Misra about Him, He quickly jumped out of the water, got dressed, put ink on His fingers, and wnt home. When his father told him of the brahmanas' grievances, He replied, "Look father, I have just come from school! Just see my fingers. I haven't been to the Ganga at all. They are making false complaints." It is not clear to me if this incident happened once or was a repeated occurence. Comments? Where is it stated that Nimai when in East Bengal visited the home of His paternal ancestors in Srihatta?
