Guest guest
Haribol, AGTSP, AG2SG+G, PAMHO, I am asking this question as someone who has not studied the sastras very well (not even Bhagavata Gita, let alone all the other sastras), therefore, please excuse my ignorance. Does anyone know of any evidence in vedic sastra of lands other than Bharata Varsa(India)? It is said that in previous yugas that the whole earth was Bharata Varsa. If so, then why are there only places in India mentioned even in those accounts which deal with those eras? It is sometimes said that India is the chosen place for Lord Krishna to advent himself due to the devotees and devotional service in India. If so, surely in previous yugas when the whole earth was Bharata Varsa then the devotees must have been present in various parts of the globe, are these mentioned anywhere? It seems to me that all the various puranic stories one hears (and there are a lot of them) deal with only the immediate area of India, (maybe upto Afghanistan in Mahabharata). I think I may have heard in one of Srila Prabhupada's lectures that in the Ramayana there is mention of South America and maybe specifically Brazil - has anyone else heard this and more importantly is this in the Ramayana? Can anyone help with these queries? Thanks in advance. Hare Krishna Mahendra
