Guest guest
I just received a spate of queries regarding various vidhis and wonder if any of the receivers here might be interested to reply at least partially to any of them. Thankyou very much. Here are the queries. In the vaishnava calander I was seeing Salagram Tulasi jaldan from April 14th to May 14th. The question is those who have salagram, round the year they do Tulasi jal dan. Then what does it mean to mention this for the above period? Does it mean, those who do not generally worship salagram should, at least worship, for this duration of one month? Someone was (Gaudiya math?) saying, one should not bathe salagram on ekadasi? if so why is it like that. What other basic things one is expected to know about salagram worship? One person asked me, why is that one should not do full parikrama to Shiv linga. One does it to one end to the other and back.To the shiva temple outside one can do round and round parikrama? Why we should not pick tulasi on dwadasi? They say sundays and ekadasi we do not water tulasi or worship, But in Iskcon, we worship and water Tulasi all the days of the year. What are the basic rules and regulations governing tulasi worship? People who have not taken bath, they should refrain from watering tulasi during worship? What are the types of sacred thread, sometimes they talk of this many number threads in it, varies to grhastas and sanyasis, it is so? Are there any rules in changing the old thread? Some kind of day and a way to do it? What is the basic final rites that we have to recommend to a deceased person and what is the procedure it should be conducted? Similarly when a devotee has to attend a marriage, what rituals or message in the form of blessings should be inducted to the newly weds? I have not particularly about these things in srila prabhupada books, hence seeking your clarification. Please enlighten me on the above queries.
