Current/Past Actions and Material Destiny.

Please accept my humble obesiances unto your lotus feet.

 

I have a question for the group.

 

Do you believe that everything that happens in ones life is

predestined, I mean whatever will ever happen to you at any moment

of your current life is fixed at the time of your birth ? Is this

true ?

 

Prahlad Maharaj says is bhagavatam that both material happiness and

material sadness is fixed and consequently nothing can be done to

improve the material standard of your life in the present. And

because this is so I should become Krishna conscious in this life

and not worry about these things because no matter what actions I

perform in this life I will still receive what is due to me in

accordance with my previous karma.

 

If this is so, does this mean that if I work very hard at some job

or not work so hard, or abuse my health or eat very healthy, that I

will still receive the exact same wealth or health that is due to me

regardless of my behavior or actions in this life?

 

Does this also mean there is no causal relationship with the actions

I perform in this life and the results which I incur in this life?

In other words,the actions I do by using my free will in this life

have any bearing on the results that come to me in this life, or are

my actions in this life only related to the reactions I will suffer

or enjoy in my next life the actions i have performed today . Or

what i will face in current life is a combination of results of both

present and past actions ?

 

Kindly enlighten me with scripture based proper answers.

1) freedom is always there, but it is very little and not sufficient to get

out free from this material world only by ourselves... in this way we are

called "eternally conditioned"

2) to receive krishna consciousness is a matter of mercy from Krishna and

the spiritual master, no one has enough merits to receive it and, with

caitanya mahaprabhu, no one has enough sins to be unfit to hear and chant

the holy name..... in this way we can overcome the entanglements of maya and

go back to Vaikuntaloka
