Guest guest
Hari Bol, There is some amount of bliss and pleasure in everthing .. in this world.. Why ? I guess i dont have to tell you all the answer to this question. Its because there is Krishna or Vishnu tattva in each and every atom of this universe... We should keep this point in mind while dealing with everthing in this life... always... There are two things. One is Vaishnavism.. and other is Brahman effulgence which is similar to the Sun and the Sun rays... This is the difference in a Krishna Bhajan sung by a true devotee of Krishna and... a Thyagaraja Keerthanaa sung by a classical singer... In the Thyagaraja keerthanaas and the carnatic music or for that matter even in any other music... there are different levels of Brahman effulgence mixed... and this may or may not be suitable for Krishna bhakti.. Because Brahman effulgence tends to divert the devotee away from Krishna... It might give one a lot of pleasure... and that way one might tend to get diverted.... from Krishna Consciousness... But i feel that some of the singers in south india were very sincere devotees of the Lord... and when their songs and bhajans are sung are heard... one gets an experience of sweet bliss and nectar ... This sweet bliss or nectar is a combination of both bhakti and brahman effulgence..... Please correct me if i am wrong... I only put forth my opinion and understanding of the thyagaraja keerthanas ... Hare Krishna, Anand

I am very interested to know why you think that Thyaagaraaja's kiirtana's are tinged with impersonal sentiments. Could you provide some specific examples? I think this would make for an interesting discussion. yours, - K
