Guest guest
Recently on Achintya a major factor in rebuttal of sahajiya views was the question of conduct and eligibility: that because sahajiyas do not adhere to proper Vaisnava behavior they are disqualified from espousing philosophy. Yet immoral behavior is far from unusual in ISKCON. For instance divorce and remarriage of initiated devotees has become practically as accepted as in karmi society. Are we not hypocritical to dismiss others on the grounds of moral standards we appear to offer only lip service to? I realize that Achintya is meant for philosophy, not social controversy with its attendent nastiness. However philosophy divorced from practical life has no meaning, and as the question of conduct and eligibility has been raised herein, I suggest that it be further reviewed in as detached and philosophical manner as may be possible.
