dhanani bhumau pasavas ca gosthe

nari-grha-dvare janah smasane |

dehas citayam para-loka-marge

karmanugo gacchati jiva ekah ||

 

 

One’s money remains in the bank.

One’s car sits parked in the driveway.

One’s wife goes as far as the door of the porch.

Other relatives go to one's funeral.

One’s body goes into the cremation fire itself;

but the conditioned soul on the way to the other world,

goes all alone.
