All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Dear Sumeet Prabhu,

Please accept my most humble

obeisances.Regarding the absence of sanskrit words in the original text of BG

8.9, I understand it as follows:

The translation to 8.9 follows from the previous verse 8.8 where Krishna says

one should constantly remember Him and goes on to explain how He is to be

remembered: as Kavim puranam....In the 8.8 itself Krishna has mentioned that

the object of rememberance is Paramam Purusham Divyam- Which means , the

Supreme Personality who is transcendental to the material conception.

Hence as a continuation Srila Prabhupada

includes the two adjectives in the next verse also, as one should not forget

from the various descriptions that the Lord is a transcendental personality.

Note that in 8.8 he does not use these two adjectives at all.

Instead he talks of Krishna. While Krishna talks in the third person in 8.8 ,

Srila Prabhupada Translates in the first person as a continuation of the

previous verse (Tasmat Sarvesu kalesu).

I think that is the acharya's prerogative in

presenting according to the time, place & circumstance. He translates in such a

way so as to present the essence, rather than sticking to word by word.
