Guest guest
In Visnu sahasra nama Lord Visnu is described as dharmadhyaksa, satyadharma, dharma, dharmaviduttama, dharmagup, dharmakrt, dharmi. If anyone has access to acharya's commentaries on these names I'd be grateful if they were posted here.

Guest guest
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I'm posting the commentaries of Sri Parasara Bhattar (follower of Sri Ramanuja) translated by Prof L. Venkatarathnam Naidu, T.T.Devasthanams, Tirupati. Dharmadhyakshah (He gets this name and Lokaadhyakshah and Suraadhyakshah by virtue of his omniscience): the instrument of such worship ordained by sastras. He controls all these. He is Aniruddha who investigates, for the purpose of granting the fruit, into non-observance,partial observance and vitiated observance of dharma. He is therefore known as knower of Dharma, Knower of methods, Presiding deity, Highly truthful. He alone dispenses all fruits with knowledge (of the dharma performed by each person). Sathyadharmaparaakramah: Such auspicious qualities and valourus exploits of Bhagavaan are true, Vid with reference to His noble qualities and exploits, Arjuna said " Oh, Kesava, all that you sayare, i think, literally true." Vishnu has unfailing prowesswhom in the Vaakaas, Anuvaakas, Nishadhas, Upanishadhas and even in the true Saamas, the Vedas praise in terms of unfailing action." dharmagup: protects the dharma of the beneficiaries referred to above by preventing them from abusing the artha and kama bestowed on them. Vide - "Him who extends, with great understanding, artha and kaama to those who are well established in the righteous path of dhrama." dharmakruth: Thus He makes all persons addicts of dharma and thus makes dharma the means of conferring favors without an underlying cause. Vide - " Dharma, ordinary, spotless, without beginning and end and all pervading, which it is impossible to attain without His grace, even by those who have true knowledge of Him." dharmee: Though Dharma is very well known, yet it is a very ordinary means for Him. dharmah: He is the actual prop for all prosperity and final absolution. Brahma said of him (Rama)- " You are the greatest among knowers of the Supreme; you are the supreme Dharma in all the worlds." Lakshmana said, "If Rama, the son of Dasaratha, is the embodiment of Dharma, always adheres to truth is second to none in valor, O arrow! kill this son of raavana." Others have said: "Those brahmanas who are versed in the vedas and people who have realised the Supreme Being speak of the great Krishna as the eternal Dharma. That Dwaraka is highly merited, where the destroyer of Madhu lives. He is verily the Lord, the ancient Purusha and in short the eternal Dharma." Others again said - "Along with Rama, both Dharma and Lakshmi have gone." dharmavidhuththamah: He is the best among those versed in dharma. Though He was a disciple of Vasistha, Vaamadheva, Maarkandeya and other sages, he was the authority for knowledge of dharma. " Like the ocean into which all rivers flow, He was sought after by all good souls. He is versed in Dharma and highly truthful." Highly revered by those versed in the Vedas. He is well versed in the Vedas and their angas. You are immeasurable and invincible; you have conquered the senses and are the very embodiment of the best Dharma. You have undying fame, you asre clear-sighted, you have forbearance like the earth and blood-red eyes. in your service, Aravind.
