Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati joined many contemporary scholars in

rebuffing as philosophically or historically inaccurate, or as outright

forgeries, certain books considered important by many Vaisnavas. He wrote in

his introduction of Sri Caitanya-caritamrta:

There are several other modern books or books that were written after Sri

Caitanya-caritamrta, such as Jayananda's Caitanya-mangala, the kadaca

(notebook) ascribed to one Govinda dasa, Vamsi-siksa, Advaita-prakasa, and

Nityananda-vamsa-vistara. Although it is said that these books are old, we

have no interest in them, because they are incorrect in their philosophical

delineation and conclusions. Their narrow-minded, evil intentions are

obvious and highly noticeable by to the absence of any effort at proper

teachings in them. Accepting Sri Caitanya-caritamrta as the original book,

no one should recognize these apa-granthas (bogus scriptures).

I don't have access to it now, but there was a website article showing in

detail how there are many points that make Advaita Prakash 'unauthorized.'

It is true that Srila Bhaktisiddhanta doesn't like Advaita-prakasa

and othe rbooks, but the question still remains that it is perfectly

authentic for those who are coming on Advaita Acharya's disciplic

succession. They are not concerned with Srila Bhaktisiddhanta's

opinions unfortunately. For them it is enough that Isana Nagara wrote

it, and Isana Nagara was Advaita Acharya's personal servant for many

years and was a personal witness to many of the incidents he writes

about.

That website spoken of is BG Narasingha's presentation. I don't agree

with it when I read it but I can't find it either.
