Guest guest
Dear Devotees, Hare Krishna Please accept my humble obeisances All Glories to Srila Prabhupada How are all of you ? Sometime back, I had proposed that we start a portal exclusively to research and present Gaudiya Vaishnava Vedanta. I waited for sometime to obtain responses from all of you and some good ideas came through. However, this would be a laborious long-term project that will unfold in stages. I am confident that there are enough materials for us to gather, collate and analyse. Eventually we have to come up with a catechism that addresses doubts and answers well with thoroughly researched materials. My two devotee friends, Ashwin Prabhu and Sushma Mataji, both from Bangalore, are presently working on obtaining a cost-effective portal for this purpose - www.gaudiyabhaktivedanta.com . Once ready, I would be inviting all seriously inclined devotees to join. During the initial stage, we have to work on gathering materials in our sampradaya that deal with aspects of Vedanta. From having read Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada's biography, I do believe that he would have spoken extensively on Vedanta. I do understand that he spent considerable lecture sessions on presenting Upanishadic information. Also, recently, I read a biography of H.H. Bhakti Pramode Puri Maharaja and it was mentioned there that Maharaja was taking notes of Srila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta's lectures in Vrndavana, etc. So we have to spend at least the first 6 months to a year collating materials - whatever we can find - to create a resource pool with which to then tackle the issues. Gaudiya Math materials would be there. This portal will be accompanied by a that will discuss the issues. All of these will be initially based on invitation only so that only sincere and dedicated devotees fixed at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada can join. I will be only inviting devotees whom I see as mature and brahminical since the purpose is very specific and would require the proper culture and intelligence necessary for Vedantic study. Once we develop sufficient materials, we can then gradually open up to others. Otherwise, the discussions would tend to go off track and there may be some troublemakers who want to make life difficult for devotees during the discussion process. I have seen some overtly open forums end up as mudslinging arenas with no substantial spiritual understanding and growth to be had. We have to avoid this. Also, through this project, it is my desire to firmly establish the Bhaktivedanta purports as the shining light through which Gaudiya Vedanta may be best understood - hence the name gaudiyabhaktivedanta.com . Therefore, despite all the differences we may have regarding ISKCON's internal structure, policies, practices and controversial issues, while we remain convinced philosophical of our own standpoints, we need to also work in cooperation in certain projects for the common good of our sampradaya. In this way, we would all not become islands but can still function within the same family while we maintain our differences in certain respects. Some common projects are needed in this regard and I do pray and hope that this proposal will fulfil that need. Despite various viewpoints on matters, all of us must have some love for Srila Prabhupada. Otherwise, we would not be associated with the institution and mission he has established. It is on this platform that we have to work. Hare Krishna your servant r. jai simman singapore

If it pleases you to do so, you can use Achintya for this purpose, since discussions of this nature was originally the reason for creating Achintya in the first place. Also, you should probably focus on vedaanta-suutra and Shriimad Bhaagavatam together for this purpose. Aside from Iishavaasya and Gopaala-taapani, I don't believe any commentaries on the other Upanishads remain extant in our tradition.
