Guest guest
Please accept my pranams. I'm a member of this forum and I'm finding good enlightenment by reading achintya messages. This is a question regarding the avatArAs of God. Actually different vaishnava acharyas hold different views on incarnations. According to Ramanuja, the incarnations are temporary, the descend into this world at times of need and the Lord who is all pervading **takes a form** made of a spiritual substance called suddha sattva during his incarnations. Many pancharatra texts are quoted to support this point (Even in bhagavatam, in the description of the varaha avatara, the devas pray, "grhitva amala sattva murtaye", which means "you've accepted this form made of suddha sattva)and when the incarnation is over, the Lord ascends to Vaikuntam. And thus the divine form does not exist anymore. But the gaudiya view point is similar to that of Madhva, according to which, all the incarnations are eternal(including the avataras like hamsa) and they possess a form made of bliss and knowledge which is non different from their self. They have their own abodes in the spiritual sky and they appear and diasappear from our vision according to the schedule. And the varaha purana sloka is quoted as the authority. Now my doubt is are there any quotations from Bhagavatam and other well known scriptures which support this view that the avatara forms are eternal and they're made of knowledge and bliss.I came across some verses in 10th canto about Krishna. But couldn't find similar ones for Narasimha, Rama, Hamsa, Kapila, matsya etc.,I request the devotees of this forum to explain this topic.Does the pancharatra texts support this view of Madhva and gaudiyas? If it has been already discussed in achintya, I kindly request you to provide the references.
