Guest guest
In text 3.8, Krishna says action is better than non-action. Does this indicate karma-yoga is superior to jnana-yoga (non-action)? Because Krishna is talking about two kinds of yogis, one devoted to work, another devoted to knowledge. So, non-action in this verse, seen in the context probably refers to jnana-yoga. But, then I believe Gaudiyas understand jnana-yoga to be superior than karma-yoga. So, I'm a bit confused. Also, in 6.47, is Krishna not talking about the best karma-yogi of all karma -yogis? because he doesn't talk about bhakti-yoga until later. He restricts his comparison beginning from the 3rd chapter to jnana and karma-yogis. Even in 8th chapter He only encourages Arjuna to continue his duty of fighting, while still remembering Him, which is also karma-yoga as I understand. So, why is 6.47 considered the verdict on bhakti being the best of all yogic paths? please help see reason. Isn't it too early for Krishna to declare the best without explaining bhakti-yoga in the 12th chapter. in your service, Aravind.
