Guest guest
Initially my devotional life started when i first picked up a copy of Bhagavad Gita, it was one that my mother had kindly brought for me from India. I read that copy, and had a slight change in conscioussness for maybe a day or to, however notably, i fell back down onto the material platform, i never really understood the message or Lord Krsna from that copy of Bhagawad Gita. Previously, 1-2-3 years ago, my cousin had sent me a cd-rom, made by ISKCON, containing Bhagawad Gita As It Is. After systematically reading through that copy of Bhagawad Gita, i found that by the grace of Lord Krsna, i understood a fair deal of it, and my conscioussness from then on has definately been changed. At the moment, i am reading Srimad Bhagawatam, and am currently on the 5th Canto, at the bit about Jada Bharata. I now realise how much of this life i had spent gratifying my senses, or following religious prinicples, without detalied knowledge of the great Vedic essence behind it. So, at the moment, through this implementation of Bhakti Yoga, i am trying to limit the amount of time spent gratifying my senses, and try 'at home' to use time wisely, either to read these books, or to dedicate certain activities to Lord Krsna. I will be going to Edinburgh University in September to study software engineering, and have currently just finished 6th form at school.
