Guest guest
Dear Devotees PAMHO AGTSP All glories. And all glories to Krishna Susarla, the debate was very exciting to read, I want to be able to defend like that, one day. There are many parts of the bhagavatam I find difficult to understand. I like it very much this is my first time around, but this one I just could not find a surface to scratch. My comments on the text may seem a bit weird or as though I may want to knock Prabhupada, but I just want to get an understanding. I am greatly indebted to Prabhupada and I attend morning program everyday and am aspiring for Innitiation from Devamrta swami. But I have difficulty understanding. Krtadytu was in an ocean of sorrow when her son died thus she addressed the lord: "My lord you say there is no law that a father should die in the lifetime of his son and that a son should not be born in the lifetime of his father" Ok, this it seems fairly simple, regarding natural life spans. "Birth and death depend on karma." Now she begins with Karma mimamsa. Er. So if you do bad activities you will die young? "There is no need for a controller" She is in a alot of anguish so she is a addressing a creator that does not exist? Like Lord Ramacandra talking to the trees after Sita was taken away. "You may say a controller is needed beacause material energy does not have the power to act independently." Alright she understands that god exist or she would not be talking to him so then she says that he is in charge. "One may answer if bonds of affection which you created are disturbed by karma, no-one will raise children with affection, instead they will cruelly neglect them." What does she mean? I cannot understand. Its like a solid wall. Our actions affect our relationships? This is still in line with Karma mimamsa? "Since you have cut the bonds of affection that compell a parent to raise a child you are inexperienced and unintelligent." Is it really the lords fault? I mean she said that everything is due to Karma? Your confused servant Bh.Robin Maybe(thats why i´m checking with the devotees here) An athelete who does all kind of training to be big and strong stop his training and does steroids instead. For father its an austerity to do his duty and make his wife and kids laugh. But if he starts drinking booze then he might wreck his marital home and then his family would live somewhere else and he would have no duty. is this right?
