Guest guest
Hare Krishna, Dandavats. It was really an interesting discussion on jIvAtma's size. The sruti statement(Svetasvatara Up. 5.9) was quoted as support for this. I've a question on this. In the purport of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, in a solka from the second chapter, Srila Prabhupada quotes the following verse kesAgra shata bhAgasya satAmsha sadrshAtmaka jIva sUkshma svarUpoyam saAnkhyatIto' hi cit kanah. Tanslation :"There are innumerable number of spiritual atoms of the sie of one ten thousandth of the hair tip". WHat is the source of this verse? In the Tamil translation of the gita, it is given that this verse is from Srimad BHagavatam. But I couldn't find it there.I kindly request the devotess of this forum to help. And are there any other references which explicitly talk about the atomicity of the jIvA? Please provide.
