Maya is a machine and the the more people misidentify

with it the more machine like they become, the extreme

of this is found in kali yurga where people will

sacrifice all human qualities in order to try to merge

with the inanimate dead matter. To the level they do

this they secure there sentence in hell - a place that

cannot be perceived in this present human form - where

all feelings of humanity are replaced with intense

suffering. Anyone can see how scared and desperate

animals are after returning from this state but people

ignore natures warnings and proceed as fast as they

can towards that existence. Prabhupda gives the

example of moths flying into a flame and also says

that without God consciousness there is no human life.
