Guest guest
Hare Krishna, I understand that many scholars have done research on various puranas and have concluded that certain sections are interpolated. Can someone give the name of the books wherein these supposedly interpolated sections can be known? It will be helpful in collecting acceptable data from Puranas to support few essential points. Ex: Padma Purana talks of Goloka being above Vaikuntha and Krishna being the SPG in 2 different sections of which, one section, I beleive is considered interpolated.Even then we have useful information in the other section. Same is the case with other Puranas also. I also came across Naradiya Purana clearly stating the Supremacy of Krishna over MahaVishnu and it also glorifies Srimati Radharani and Goloka to a great extent. There is also another section giving the thousand names of Krishna and Srimati RadhaRani. It also says that Parasurama meditated on Krishna and got blesssed, much before Dvapara Yuga. The author himself considers this interpolated because he strictly believes the chronological order of avataras and hence finds it impossible that Krishna could exist before his avatara schedule! (mayayApahrta jnana). I find this reason too superficial to accept because Bhagavata clearly says that Dhruva did tapasya in Madhuvana(in Mathura) which has the footsteps of Krishna, way before Krishna's appearance. Hence, any reasonably good research will be helpful in defending accusations that we quote only interpolations. This has become a favorite resort to anyone cornered by our philosophy/ideas/system Dasa Narasimhan New and Improved Mail - Send 10MB messages!
