Guest guest
Hare Krishna, I came across following verse on the net on guru-parampara in Advaita. But there was no reference to it. Does anyone know its source? I am surprised to see that Vyasadev and Sukadev Goswami are also included in this list. How can the compiler (Vyasa) and the foremost expert (Suka) of Srimad Bhagavatam belong to the Advaita School? Any comments? nArAyaNam. padmabhuvam. vasishTham. Any comments? > Here is an obvious case of a paramparA which does not exhibit philosophical agreement from beginning to present day. It is also noteable that despite all the controversy over gauDIya paramparA link to madhva despite philosophical differences, the Advaita tradition has not been embroiled in any similar controversy. What this goes to show is that politics overrides principle. Many will rail against gauDIyas for claiming paramparA from madhva, but these same individuals will excuse shrI shankarAchArya's paramparA claim despite the even greater disparity between his view and that of his guru's guru's guru. Anyway, getting back to the point - offhand I don't know the source for it. I'm sure Vidyasankar Sundareshwaran of the Advaita web page can furnish you with it if you email him (a link to his email address should be available from that web page). He appears to be well read in Advaita, and unlike Advaita's representation on this list, he actually seems to know what he is talking about.
