Society in kali: Important

out on the fringe of society."

 

Now, the question is:"Puranas have shown God to be

very kind w.r.t answering devotees' prayers. Draupadi,

Prahalada, Markandeya are just a few examples.

Will God be as responsive in the Kali age? Does

Mahamantra of Krishna devotees in Kali have only the

spiritual benefit of taking devotee closer to Moksha

or does it have material benefit in terms of

protecting the devotee from evil?

 

In this context I would like to put forth a

hypothetical situation:

If an ISKCON devotee is a witness to a crime, and if

the criminal is known to be a powerful goon, should he

report as a witness to the police and risk his life.

Can he trust the Mahamantra to protect him completely?

Or, should he tell himself that the Mahamantra has

only a spiritual benefit, and for survival, he has to

adopt the smart attitude."

PS - I am not questioning the greatness of the

Mahamantra or the theistic attitude, but these are

practical questions which often put a devotee in a

bind.
