Srila Prabhupada: No, it is not my opinion -- it is the verdict of the sastra. Opinion -- what is the value of opinion when the people are like dogs and asses? What is the use of taking the opinion of an ass? This vox populi -- taking the opinion of the public -- is degrading modern society. If the public is composed of drunkards, smokers, meat eaters, gamblers, and woman hunters, then what is the value of their opinion? Why take the opinion of fourth-class men? What Krsna says -- that is the standard. Krsna is the supreme, and His version is final. No other opinion is allowed. When we sent letters to U.N. and other bodies on Peace missions, committees etc we asked the same question. Where is the peace in the society? The multimilion discussions group, expenditure incurred by non believers of PEACE who even do not know the exact meaning of Peace, externally preach or speak for Peace but internally hope for pieces of land, place, state, country by sellng poisinous weapons and making two to fight and enjoy the relsult of few monies. This was the case of these ignorant demon crazy politicians who instead of preaching KRISHNA(GOD) CONSCIOUSNESS TO THE PEOPLE, THEY PRODUCE VARIOUS POISONOUS WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION WITH THE SLOGAN IN FRONT OF IT THAT THEY SEEK PEACE???!!
