For more info pls write: Adipurusa.GKG Hare Krishna, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Thanks for writing to us. Here is some information about the VIHE Bhakti Shastri Correspondence Course and below is the application form, which you are invited to fill out if you are going to join. The course is done by email only. The total duration is up to 2 years (after which you can certainly continue your studies but some extra fee will have to be sent again). The course is self-paced, but we recommend that you send 1 or 2 assignment every week, for a brisk progress. You will receive some study materials by email, get certain home work which you should do and the instructor will be ready to answer your questions. Some of your completed assignments could be counted as examination essays. We begin individual courses in "waves" every two months, approximately, beginning on February 1. Please note that it is not the responsibility of the instructor to push you time and again if you lag behind. You study for yourself. A recommendation is not a must for taking the course. Everybody can benefit by studying and passing the exams, and can receive a certificate about their grades, but those who follow the four regulative principles, chant at least 16 rounds a day, adhere to the standard ISCKON practices and have references/recommendations from their temple and spiritual authorities are awarded an official all-ISKCON Bhakti Shastri diploma. For the exam there are several options: (1) do it in Vrindavan, when you come here -- two sessions 3 hours each, composed of 60 short questions + 5 short essays and 12 slokas; (2) do the above at the end of the whole course in the temple in your vicinity -- for that you will have to find a temple authority willing to administer the exam to you and ask them to contact us, after which we send them the exam and they mail us your answers; (3) similar to number 2, but done three times, after each of the three modules (which means that there is less to study every time and the covered course is fresher in the mind, but it makes for a slightly bigger mailing expenditure). The fee for the whole course is Rs.9,000 (US$200), or Rs.3,150 (US$70) per module (I Module: Bhagavad-gita 1-9; II Module: Bhagavad-gita 10-18; III Module: Nectar of Devotion, Nectar of Instruction and Isopanisad). You can use Western Union for transfering the fee (send it for Andriy Panasyuk, staying in Vrindavan, India). Western Union also operates online. Or pay online through www.cash2india.com by choosing "Send a Demand Draft" and giving the name Andriy Panasyuk and the address as Adipurusha Das, VIHE, ISKCON, Vrindavan, 281124, U.P., India; phone (0565) 2540228 [do NOT choose Mathura bank, choose nothing or Delhi, it comes much quicker]. The third alternative is that you can manually send a Demand Draft, payable to "VIHE", to the same address. If you have any questions, please write to me. Our website is located at vihe.org Thank you! Hope this helps, Your servant Adi-purusha das ___________________ Application form ----------------------------- Devotee name: Passport name: Preferred name(s) for B.S. diploma: Date of birth: Marriage Status: Spiritual master: Year when you came in touch with Krsna Consciousness: Year when you started following the four reg. principles and chanting minimum 16 rounds of Hare Krsna a day: How frequently do you associate with devotees: Postal Address: City: Postcode: State: Country: Telephone: Alternative E-mail, if any: Recommendations/references:
