Guest guest
Haribol Srila Bhaktisiddhanta says in several places (Brahmana O Vaisnava, and purports to kiba vipra verse and to Antya chapter 3.124) that by "nama-yajna" Srila Haridasa Thakura became a daiksa-brahmana according to the principles of the Ekayana branch of the Vedas. My question is what Ekayana branch is being referred to? the Pancaratra literature? If so, what specific Pancaratra texts stipulate who can become a brahmana? Any insights on this? ys Gerald Surya

This is a very good question. I also want to know what this Ekayana (or is it ekAyana?) branch is. I also remember reading a story in CC, about how the prostitute who tried to seduce Haridas Thakur was instead initiated by him through chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. This did not seem to be a literal translation of the Bengali but obviously it is Srila Prabhupada's view. Perhaps he is basing it on the same principle as above, in which case we need to find out more.
