Hari Bolo Prabhus!

Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Sri Guru & Sri Gauranga.

Many of you all know that the arena where I am presenting Krishna Consciousness

there is an unusually high concentration of Impersonalists. Ojai California was

where the world known "KrishnaMurti" had his Western residence and many of his

followers moved into this town because they appreciated what he had to say.

Meyer Babba even has a place that he apparently visited several years ago and is

advertised as his Kutir. On top of that the little Ojai Valley of approximately

45,000 is the home of: Meditation Mount; The University of World Religions; One

of the Western Headquarters for TM; The Theosophical Society; Krotona Library;

and The Church of Religious Science, The Happy Valley School, The Ojai Institute

etc.

My reason for writing this letter is to ask the Vaishnava community to help me

find resources that I can draw from that reflects the authority of the Bhagavad

Gita. Needless to say, I do not anticipate that the hard core Mayavadies will

accept any information on this subject, but there are many innocent people who

are unresolved on what they believe or why and a reference like this might be

helpful for them.

Of course we as Vaishnava's accept this scripture as the final word on

Spiritual life, but many of the New-Age impersonailsts sit on the fence about

it. They don't really want to go on record as rejecting the Gita, but then

they also clearly don't want to have a serious discussion about what the Gita

teaches because for the most part it would expose them as cheaters teaching a

lot of bogus nonsense. So they tend to say things like: "I like the Gita, but

it is just a guideline." Some say exactly what Srila Prabhupada warned us they

would: "The Gita is just a metaphor... Krishna never really existed." In this

way they have been mislead into thinking the Gita is just a mythological story

and the personality of Krishna was just an actor in a great play written by an

unknown author for the purpose of teaching us like just like King Lear taught us

about the fickle ways of love and friendship in Shakespears extraordinary play.

More specifically I am inquiring to find if anyone knows of, or has written a

good summary analysis on the authority of the Gita? Hopefully it would include

how widely it is accepted and it's history from a scholarly point of view. It

would also be very helpful if there was some quality information available to

confirm the acutely occurrence of the Battle of Kukuksetra and the existence of

Krishna on this earth. I realize that much of this is available through the

Vedabase where Srila Prabhupada made several supporting comments in his purports

such as the place Kukuksetra Still Exists today just north of New Deli, etc,...

but I am hoping someone might have compiled all those arguments into a

comprehensive analysis that I could just dispatch and refer to.

A document of this type would be a valuable tool that we should have at our

disposal. If it doesn't currently exist, I humbly request that the senior

devotees who might happen to read this request seriously consider the

possibility of putting such a document together.

Please contact me with anything that is relevant to this request. Thank you so

much for your service. Hoping this meets you in good spirits and

enthusiastically engaged in the service of Lord Krishna.

Your Servant,
