Actually the Gita 10.42 also confirms this: ekaamshena sthito jagat. Krishna says that a part of Him supports the universe. That "part" is then described in detail in the beginning of next chapter as the universal form which both Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana and Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti identify as the Purusa of Purusa-sukta, i.e. Maha-Vishnu. The Naradiya Purana also mentions about Maha Vishnu coming from Krishna. It may well be claimed to be an interpolation by other sampradayas, but one thing which intigues me is, Gaudiyas have been a very small group based in Vraja and I cannot imagine they influencing so many of the the sastras if the interpolation claims are anything to go by. dasa Narasimhan Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
