Guest guest
Dear all, Hare Krishna.I came across the following from Narada Purana.Plase see 1.83.12 & 1.83.13. Mentioned that Narayana came from Krishna's right hand side and Mahalakshmi came from Srimati Radharani's right hand side. I forgot where I found this: Brahmavaivarta Purana 4.9.13 The primary forms of the Lord are Nrsimha, Rama, and the splendid master of Svetadvipa. The most perfect, full, most complete, original form of the Supreme Lord is Sri Krsna, who resides in Goloka, the highest realm in the spiritual sky ---- Might anyone have the sanskrit to verify the translation? Guest guest
Hare Krishna, While Brahma vaivarta has numerous verses that extoll Krishna showing Him to be Supreme, I don't know if our acharyas have used it anywhere to establish Krishna or Srimati Radharani or Goloka's supreme position. There are few problems associated: a) Being a purana of Rajasic category it may not carry much weight against sattvic puranas. b) It has things like Srimati and Vrindadevi and Sridhama cursing each other and forced to take birth etc, though it can always be called Lord's Lila but nevertheless paints a not so pure picture. It is the opinion of some that the descriptions of Goloka is more of Aisvarya maya. c)Few editions of the Purana show Goloka to be within the Material world I suppose and hence is not watertight in establishing Krishna/Goloka's position. I think our acharyas mainly used Padma purana to establish the superiority of Krishna's form in addition to Srimad Bhagavatham. dasa narasimhan Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005
