Guest guest
Hare Krishna Achintya Fans!, This is Bhakta David Modan Mohan Rosenthal. I found an Arameic Bible on the internet called the Peshitta this appears to be a verry athoratative version of the new testament as it is in Arameic and in its origional form translated directly from Arameic to English. When I encounter christians during sankritan I am frequently countered by their belifs in meat eating or that jesus is the same as krishna. They quote verses in the bible that I have already proven by researching the Preshitta to be misquoted. A good example of this is the passage in the king james bible where jesus alledgedly says in Joshua 14:6 "I am the truth the way and the life, no man comes to the father without going through me. when it really says, Yukhanan 14:6-7 (Yukhanan means Joshua in arameic) "Yeshua to him said to know the way we are able my father to comes man no and the life and the truth the way also you would have known me if only by me except him you know now on and from you would have known my father." To me and I belive others will agree this is prescribing an example where jesus is telling Peleepos (Philip I belive) that one has to aproach a spirtual master (someone who knows the absolute truth) to aproach god (krishna). You know if probupad had known arameic he could have translated the preshetta to english with purport and then refrenced it to examples of paralleling ideals of the vedas. That would be a really good book to sell to christians, a way to bridge the gap between other religons, and a way to help people who are misguided and stubborn in their belifs of the bible to be the only scripture to have a new appreciation for Krishna. Berachyah
Hare Krishna Achintya Fans!,This is Bhakta David Modan Mohan Rosenthal. ~~~~~~~~~~Yukhanan 14:6-7 (Yukhanan means Joshua in arameic)~~~~~~~~~~ That is John 14:6-7 in the English and the name John in the Hebrew is not Joshua/Yahshua. Rather......... John (given name) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
