chinnam chinnam punarapi punah svadu caibeksukhandam

dagdham dagdham punarapi punah kancanam kantarüpam

na pranante prakrtivikrtirjayate sajjananam

 

The more sandalwood is rubbed, the more its fragrance increases. The more

sugar candy is cut, the more its taste increases. The more gold is burned,

the more its luster increases. Similarly a saintly person's nature never

changes, even up to the time of his death.
