Here is a story told by H.H.Dhanurdhara Svami yesterday, at the samadhi-mandira

of H.H.Tamala Krsna Gosvami, on the occasion of the anniversary of Tamala Krsna

Gosvami’s disappearance. Dhanurdhara Svami heard it from H.H.Bhaktivedanta

Narayana Maharaja many years ago.

After Srila Prabhupada’s physical departure from this world, one of Srila

Prabhupada’s biological sons actually tried to claim that he, as the son of

ISKCON’s founder-acarya, was the rightful inheritor of all of ISKCON’s assets.

Narayana Maharaja assisted ISKCON by testifying in a court case, and for some

period of time, Narayana Maharaja was attending court every day in Mumbai, along

with Tamala Krsna Gosvami Narayana Maharaja noticed that each morning, Tamala

Krsna Gosvami seemed to be praying fervently before the Deities of Sri Sri

Sita-Rama installed at the ISKCON Juhu temple, which struck him as somewhat

unusual because most Gaudiya Vaisnavas focus their attention more on Sri Sri

Radha-Krsna, even though theologically, the two Deities are nondifferent.

Finally, Narayana Maharaja could not contain his curiosity and asked Tamala

Krsna maharaja why he was so ardently beseeching Sita and Rama instead of Radha

and Krsna.

Tamala Krsna Maharaja immediately answered, looking at him straight in the eyes,

“I’m not praying to Sita and Rama. I’m praying to the weapons of Rama.”

Narayana Maharaja was amazed to hear this, and he later commented, “At that

moment, I learned from Tamala Krsna Maharaja the meaning of guru-nistha.”
