Guest guest
Does keeping and feeding a carnivorous pet like a cat or dog incur karma? Somebody offered to give me a lizard that eats crickets and I declined on the basis that I would be killing living entities to feed it. Since the lizard does not incur karma, it would be sinless if it fed itself, of course. What about letting it go in the wild?
Guest guest
Haribol, its funny that you bring that up, i've been struggeling with the same issue. I think that when we have a pet it then becomes our responsibility to feed and take care of it, neglecting these it would certainly cause one to incur bad karma. It is natural for animals to eat other animals, thats the way their societies work, personally i couldnt feed one live animal to another, nor could i kill one in order to feed it to another. This is a really tricky subject in my opinion, and i'm not exactly sure how scriptures regard it. So i got me some fish instead :-) I hope this helps in some way, all i ask is one favor. dont tell the achintya guys i sent this email straight to you, they dont like that stuff, but i dont like my responses going out to everyone, so i send them personally. Take care prabhu Steve Mail Use Photomail to share photos without annoying attachments.
