Guest guest
Regardless of the historical origins of the word 'Hindu', contemporary Indians accept the designation. I have an Indian friend who insists that Vaisnavism is a sub-sect of Hinduism. In fact in this conception Gaudiya-Vaisnavism is a sect within a sect. That is not how Prabhupada presents it. His purports always describe Vaisnavism as universal, non- sectarian. How can this be explained to a 'cultural Hindu'?
