Guest guest
Hare Krishna. I wanted to make it clear again that the mailing list's home page is located at achintya. In order to access the web page features, you will need to sign in using the link which is usually located in the top right corner of the browser window after going to the above page. You may have to go through a registration step to get your userid and password; I don't recall what it involves, but I remember it not being any trouble. After signing in as a member, you will be allowed to access all of the member privileges of achintya list. These include the calendar with important devotee dates, the chat window (which allows us to speak in real time with each other, assuming we were all logged in at the same time), the links section, the files section, and the database. I have already added a number of very useful links in the links section. Please let me know if you have others you want to add. I want to upload some various Sanskrit fonts and other programs into the files section. I have posted all of the September dates in the calendar and have to work on the future months. Incidentally, the calendar allows the option to send e-mail reminders to list members about upcoming dates; I thought this might be very useful for things like Ekaadashi, which I have a tendency to forget. Would any of you be opposed to receiving email reminders of such dates? I am currently using the Database section to produce a listing of Vaishnava literatures as well as other published scriptures. Gerald and I often spoke of creating a master list; I'm making it a reality right now. I can even try to enable it so that all members can contribute to such a list. I am also happy to announce that Gerald's cousin Nikhil has successfully archived all of our past messages as stored in my mailbox. I took the liberty of deleting the casual conversations that were just social, or political, trying to keep instead the philosophical ones that we might want to look back at. Nikhil is going to protect the archives with a userid and password, and I will let you all know what those are when I have it. I intend for the old archives to be for us only, even if we end up getting new members to achintya. Let me know if you feel differently. I will provide links soon. Let me know if any of you are having trouble accessing the special features of the achintya website. I actually discovered most of these only after creating the mailing list; they are pretty cool actually. Also, if any of you have ideas for any devotees to add to our list, then let me know. It would be nice to find a few more, smart, nonfanatical devotees to join our group and contribute to the discussions. yours, Krishna
