Guest guest
achintya/ekaadashii_origin.htm I am happy to announce my first really cool attempt to put my scanner to use. Please click on the above URL at your earliest convenience. There you will find the scanned in text of the Padma Puraana, Uttara-khanda, Adhyaaya 38 describing the origin of Ekaadashii - both Sanskrit and English translation. The Sanskrit is in PDF format, so you need to have the Adobe Acrobat plugin loaded into your web browser in order to make it work. I'm not sure if just installing Adobe Acrobat is all that is necessary, or if you also have to download your lastest web browser patch. But try it out anyway. Please let me know what you think - I am anxious to try this approach with other interesting chapters, but I want to get feedback regarding the format of this. For example, would it be more useful to have the Sanskrit appear in a separate window, and then only at request? Or is having the Sanskrit in the same page as the translation easier?
