siita-raama-praNaama

raamaaya raama-bhadraaya raamachandraaya medhaShe |

raghunaathaaya naathaaya siitayai pataye namaH ||

 

I offer my respectful obeisances unto Lord Raamachandra, who is all-

auspicious, the Lord of the Raghu Dynasty and the husband of Siita-

devii.

 

vandaamahe maheshaana.m hara-kodaNDa-khaNDanam |

jaanakii-hR^idayaananda-chandana.m raghu-nandanam ||

 

padme - in the Padma Purana; vandaamahe - we offer our respectful

obeisances; mahaa-iishaana.m - to the Personality of Godhead; hara -

of Shiva; kodaNDa - the bow; khaNDanam - breaking; jaanakii - of

Siita-devii; hR^idaya - the heart; aananda - bliss; chandana.m -

sandalwood; raghu - of Mahaaraaja Raghu; nandanam-the descendant.

 

"Let us offer our respectful obeisances to Lord Raamachandra, the

Personality of Godhead, who is the delight of King Raghu, who broke

Shiva's bow, and who is the sandal paste that delights Siita-devii's

heart." (padma puraaNa)
