Guest guest
Since no one apart from Susarla has written about their Janmasthmi celebration, i presume many of you are having your festival spanning over few days, at the end of which you will be writing. For this year Janmasthi, I was present at the ISKCON temple/farm at New Talavana in Mississipi. ISKCON has a big farm there from the days of Srila Prabhupada. One photograph of Srila Prabhupada, that some of you must have seen, in which he is cooking was taken in New Talavana. The farm also has about 100 cows, which are being taken care of by the devotees. Many of the cows are old, and seeing them immeadiately remainded me of the old age that will come to me in due course of time. The temple there has their lordships Sri Sri Gaura Nitai and Sri Sri Radha Krishna. Besides the murti of Srila Prabhupada, there is display of all the kicthen items that he used. Drama, a boat ride for their Lordship accompanied with the gopies, maha arati and a feast were some of the other highlights for this festival. This temple is selling some original oil paintigs, some of which are present in the Krishna Art book. If any of you have interest in these original paintings, you may like to get in touch with the temple authorities.
