Guest guest Posted August 16, 2001 Report Share Posted August 16, 2001 hare krnsa pamho well i attended the janmatami festival at the ISKCON temple sri sri radha radhanath in durban. their lorships were lookin absolutely beautiful adorned in pink with a silvery shine that sparkled when u looked at them from different angles there were the usual stalls selling all the paraphanalia and govindas restuarant was opened for all those who were not fasting. the crowds were flowing all day long which is a good sign that this movement is growing. later that evening accompanied by by other prabhus we helped in the kitchen to prepare the prasadam for the mid night feast. krsna really put us to the test that day most of us were fasting and here the aromatic scent of the curd and briyani was just so tempting but it was a lesson for us to control our senses which i managed by the mercy of lord krsna at 9 pm there was a film in which one of prabhupadas closesest devotees was being interviewed it was very ispiring.at 10 pm his holiness bhakti Caitanya swami gave a lecture from the tenth canto of SB on the appearance of Lord Krsna thereafter from 11 onwards we had ecstatic kirtan till the end. the day had been a great spiritual journey for me. the highlight of my night was catching the boquet of flowers that was in Srimati Radharani' s hand that i will definetly never forget. i am sure everybody else had a totally spritually realised day sri radha radhanath ki jay naresh Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
