Guest guest
Visit the site: http://acbspn.com/ekadashis/parsva.htm At the end of the story, it is noted that : NOTE: The next day after Ekadashi is Sri Vamana Dvadashi: Appearance day of Lord Vamanadev. Ekadashi fast is observed till nooni. The fast is broken after noon with Ekadashi prasadam. Next day (Sri Vamana Dvadashi), observe Lord Vamanadev's appearance by again fasting till noon and by chanting extra Mahamantra japa praying to the Lord for His shelter. Break this fast with joyful feasting of Lord Vamanadev's appearance day mahaprasadam! As for the difference in 1 day which someone mentioned, Ekadashi is observed on different dates in different countries due to the difference in time zones. For instance, Radhastami was celebrated on Saturday in the US are while it was celebrated on Sunday here in the UK. Guest guest
Dear Prabhu Hare Krishna Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I do not wish to offend anyone but the information at the acbspn website is incorrect. The explanation given by RaghuramPr. is correct. We have the same kind of fasting for app. day of Varahadeva where Ekadasi falls the day before. Unless ekadasi is not broken at the appropriate time given, the fast is considered null and void. In order to observe Ekadasi properly as well as fast for the appropriate appearance day, we observe the half day fast on the Ekadasi. This is the meaning of the instruction given in our Vaisnava calendar. Still, in order to support this answer I will find the relevant material in scriptures as well the advise of senior devotees. Till then, please bear with me, your servant Shashika --- Original Message ----- Sanjay Dadlani <dark_knight_9 <achintya> Thursday, August 30, 2001 9:03 PM Ekadashi clarifications > Visit the site: > > http://acbspn.com/ekadashis/parsva.htm > > At the end of the story, it is noted that : NOTE: The > next day after Ekadashi is Sri Vamana Dvadashi: > Appearance day of Lord Vamanadev.
