Guest guest
I really enjoyed Govinda Madhav's posting of Bhagavad-Gita varses, and especially his list of some of Krsna's names. Here are some that I like: Damodara: this name refers to Krsna's pastime of being bound with a rope around his belly by Mother Yasoda. I like it because the Main Deities at Gita Nagari, Pennsylvania, USA where I grew up are Sri-Sri Radha-Damodara. Kalachandji: this name means "black Moon" and the little Deities at Gita Nagari are Sri-Sri Radha-Kalachandji (a great story about Them is that They were stolen from the gurukula in Dallas Texas USA and brought to Gita Nagari!) Janardana: maintainer of the people Dina Bandhu: the friend of the fallen (distressed) there is a nice verse by Sri Jagannatha Sena that I really love "dina-bandhur iti nama te smaran/yadavendra patito 'ham utsahe/bhakta-vatsalataya tvayi srute/mamakam hrdayam asu kampate" which means "Oh Lord Yadavendra, I am fallen. When I remember Your Name Dina-bandhu, I become encouraged, and when I hear that You love Your devotees my heart trembles." Nice, huh? Hari: He that takes away. Yasoda-dulala: the darling son of Mother Yasoda. Baby Krsna is really attractive to me, which is why I like... Makanchora: the butter thief! There are lots of other great Names of Krsna, too.Does anyone else have some that they like? Your Servant, Maharani dasi Terrorist Attacks on U.S. - How can you help?
