Vishvesha Tirtha thinks he is responding to. He mentions some "propaganda" that will spread bad feelings between Maadhvas and Gaudiiyas. I don't see how the encounter described in Chaitanya-Charitamrita can be considered some makeshift propaganda that was simply made up to discredit the Maadhvas. I suspect that the Swamiji has been misled as to the actual content of the encounter described in CC. This is not surprising given who I think is the likely informant (or misinformant). This message sort of borders on the political side of things. It also quotes a URL with heavy political content (much of which is very anti- Gaudiya). On those grounds I should have rejected it. However, I allowed it here just to make the point that the meeting between Sri Chaitanya and the Maadhvas as described in CC is by no means accepted by everyone as historical, and devotees who refer to this as proof of our philosophical supremacy had better think twice. That being said, most of us here should have no problem accepting it, but I don't see how we can prove to others outside our sampradaaya that it did in fact happen. If you wish to respond to this message, please refrain from any remarks pertaining to this website's politics, the politics of its maintainer, or the politics of the Dvaita Mathas. If devotees wish to discuss the Chaitanya-Maadhva meeting and/or its historical basis, I think that is reasonable for this list. yours, Krishna
