This is an important point to understand -- the difference between sattva-guna and vishuddha sattva. One is the material mode of goodness and the other is pure, spiritual mode of goodness. While we must cultviate saattvik lifestyle, we must still progress from there. The material mode of goodness is still material. > 3] The goal of devotees in Lord Chaitanya's line is to enter into Krsna's conjugal pastimes. > I would probably say instead that devotees in Lord Chaitanya's line consider that the transcedental pastimes of the Lord in maadhurya rasa are the sweetest goal of devotional service. It's not the case that all Gaudiya Vaishnavas must endeavor for this, however. Our philosophy seems sufficiently broad to accomodate devotees who worship in other moods of devotion, and as a matter of policy we offer all such devotees the higest respect and service. yours, Krishna

Here is a nice excerpt from a lecture by H. H. Bhakti Caru Swami titled 'Entering Vrndavan' which I feel completes the point. "That's why a devotee doesn't want to jump in. He simply begins with devotion as a servant. Every living entity is a servant, and the different relationships they have with Krsna is entirely up to the Lord to award. We can not decide to enter into these relationships. A devotee does not get into some mental concoction that, since congugal is higher I will try to get into that relationship--If I can't become a gopi in Krsna's pastimes my life is useless. A devotee simply wants to be a servant. And the whole situation he remains a servant but the supreme Personality of Godhead awards him a service. It is up to Krsna to include us in different relationships in his pastimes. Nityananda Prabhu instructed Jiva Goswami and he explained why Krsna appeared as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Nityananda Prabhu explained that after revealing his pastimes in Vraj in this earth Krsna considered that how will people enter those pastimes. A devotee will serve according to Vaidi bhakti--awe and reverence. And when one achieves perfection he'll go to Vaikuntha. but Vrndavana is beyond Vaikuntha. How will one go there? Therefore, in order to create some special facility to get to Vrndavana the Lord came as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. By serving Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in Vaidi bhakti one will find oneself in Vrndavana. We should consider our great good fortune of serving Caitanya Mahaprabhu. A devotee has to serve following the rules and regulations. If we try to avoid it we'll be in trouble. Devotees never try to jump into Ragunuga. While serving Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu one becomes eligible to enter Vrndavana. Srila Prabhodananda Saraswati Thakur mentions that when one develops his devotion to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu (due to heaps of pious activities, or some inconceivable good fortune) all of the sudden his heart will be filled with the nectar emanating from the lotus feet of Radharani. One serves Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and all of the sudden he finds his heart has been inundated. And how does one serve Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu? Through Sankirtana. Spread the glory of the Lord. Create the good fortune for the living entities so they can also come up to the spiritual platform. A devotee doesn't want to enter Vrndavana and become a gopi, a devotee just wants to spread the holy name of the lord and bring good fortune to the living entities. Although he doesn't want to enter Vrndavana he finds himself there." your servant shashika
