Guest guest Posted December 18, 2001 Report Share Posted December 18, 2001 Hare Krishna! Dear devotees, For several months now, someone has been entering nondevotional dates into Achintya's calendar. I have several times seen dates for "GMAT exam" and other similar things. Although everyone has the privilege to access and edit the calendar, I am reserving this duty for one specific person. The calendar is not to be used for entering any dates other than those pertaining to Vedic culture/devotional service. If you feel some date is missing, you can message us in regards to it. Basically, my expectation is that the Achintya calendar will have all of the dates which are to be found on the ISKCON BBT calendar (or any calendar that contains Vedic/Gaudiya holidays, but the ISKCON one is the one that just happens to be readily available, and among Gaudiyas, I don't think there is much controversy over calculation of dates). In other news, I would like to announce that our very own Sri Narayanan Subramanian and Sri Nina R. have both agreed to take up some of the service opportunities offered just a few days. Sri Narayanan is going to handle entering the calendar dates and the reminders. Sri Nina is going to review the bookmarks to make sure they are up to date; she has also expressed an interest in building an archive of Prabhupada lectures translated into Eastern European languages, specifically Bosnian. I am still happy to welcome other devotees into taking up specific services for Achintya. No qualification is necessary, other than the desire to serve.
