Generally, astrological compatibility should be determined *before* the people have an opportunity to become attached to each other. Male- female attachment is very strong, especially in the beginning--it is *possible* for third parties to break off an unsuitable attachment, but is rarely done unless Krsna intervenes, at least in my experience. Separation of the parties--physical separation by as many miles as possible, greatly aides the process. Once they have been separated, they can sometimes be reasoned with. By the way, astrological compatibility isn't everything, and not all astrologers are equal. Has at least three astrologers calculated the compatibility? Have they done so not just using the ten points but also by looking at the individual charts and then planetary aspects between them? Is what the astrologers say verifiable through direct observation of both the parties, through people who know them well? I will allow questions pertaining to general matters of Vedic culture like marriage, astrology, etc, so long as the answers are given on the basis of evidence, and the questions themselves are relevant to our daily practice of devotional lifestyle. Marriage dharma is something which certainly needs to be stressed in this day and age. But we do need to consult authoritative scriptures, or Srila Prabhupada's own instructions in this regard.]
