If practicing varnasrama is as important to Krsna consciousness as I've tried to demonstrate by quoting Srila Prabhupada, then it would seem wholly germane to this list. Although caste issues are a complex and perennial problem for Indians in particular, that wouldn't make dharma irrelevent for discussion here. It's dynamic and universal, and eternally operative. It isn't static or moribund; we aren't talking about something mundane. Lord Aniruddha is the supersoul of dharma; he sustains all the material cosmos, Manu, and the devatas. Just to clarify: As moderator I am 100% in agreement here. This is the kind of forum for which varnaashrama issues should be discussed, even if we aren't explicitly invoking devotional service. We always understand here that varnaashrama is meant to encourage devotional service, although in a nondevotional forum that might have to be explicitly stressed. There may be other issues of "dharma," that don't seem to have obvious devotional relevance. Nevertheless, I do consider them relevant here. As always, just be aware that Srila Prabhupada's instructions and the scriptures are the topmost authorities to be used when judging anything. And of course, just maintain a polite Vaishnava tone, and we will be able to discuss even controversial topics properly. yours, - K
