In fact, I have always wanted to put up something similar -- a website that discusses Vedic customs. Specifically, I wanted to discuss the basic rules and regulations that devotees are required to follow (quoting from Srila Prabhupada, Nectar of Instruction, Nectar of Devotion), as well as the many other rules and customs that are observed by traditional Vaishnavas. It should discuss thinks like eating, dressing, greeting, worship, and all other aspects of our day-to-day Vedic culture. For example, many Westerners (and these days, Westernized Indians), don't understand that one should offer greetings by putting one's hands together and saying "Namaste" or chanting the Lord's Holy Names. The American custom of shaking hands, especially when it is initiated by a man towards a woman, is considered distasteful and seen as unwelcome contact by traditional women. Like that, there are so many things that devotees taking up Vedic culture might be curious to know about. That kind of subject matter might make for a great website, if anyone here were interested in putting up such a site... they could even use Achintya's web space to do it. yours, - K
