Guest guest
There is a popular story that after shooting Vali, Lord Rama benedicted Vali that he would be able to shoot Him in the next life. Apparently this supposed lila is not from Valmiki Ramayana but is an interpolation. Does anyone know clearly?

There are a number of stories attributed to Lord Raama which are not found in the Raamaayana. For example, the story of the Maayaa-Siitaa is not found in Raamaayana, but it is found in Kurma Puraana. Still, we can say for certain that it is not in Raamaayana of Vaalmiiki - I scanned the chapters in which it ought to be found, and it wasn't there. It could be from some Puraana, or as you pointed out, it could be an interpolation. yours, - K
