Hare Krishna ,

3 Modes of nature are

1.Goodness : best of the three modes, satisfaction, happiness found by a person

in this mode. is favorable for making advancement for spiritual realization But

this mode ois also binding.

e.g. poet, philosopher

2.Passion: unlimited desires, hankering and lamentation , attachment and

aversion , great attraction for sense objects. in the beginning like nectar

but poison in the end. some temporary happiness may be found and it is a source

of misery and un-happiness in the end

e.g. union between man and woman, business man

3. Ignorance : delusion from beginning to end . characterized by excess sleep,

alcoholism, violence towards other living creatures, laziness, unwillingness to

work even for self.

In the modes of passion and ignorance, there is practically little or no

knowledge of the soul, supersoul, re-incarnation , karma etc

Ignorance
