Guest guest
Hare Krishna While looking through a question and answer forum set up by HH Jayapataka Swami i came across the following: The question deals with how to avoid ghosts. The reply given is: "I've heard that Srila Prabhupada recommended sleeping with Narasimha picture near the head with a small night lamp lighting the picture. Before sleeping, the mouth, face, hands and feet should be clean. Head should be facing to the east or south when sleeping. Narasimha prayers, 9th chapter of Bhagavad Gita verses and Srimad Bhagavatam are all recommended prayers to drive away inauspicious influences. Regular chanting is required. Lighting incense and offering it to Lord Narasimha can also help" Based on this answer my opinion is that obviously by following these procedures one is invoking the presence of Lord Narasimhadeva to protect one from evil influences, so why would Srila Prabhupada advise this when keeping pictures of Narasimhadeva at home is dangerous? I have a picture on my altar and i also heard that keeping a deity of Ugra Narasimha is not recommended for home worship but any other form of Narasimhadeva is allowed. your servant Sacidevi dasiPlease accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Sincerest wishes for only good things.
