The week beginning on the 20th of May 2002 is very special and these are

the reasons: Firstly it is the week of the Prabhupada festival in Los

Angeles and the whole week is studded with wonderful events. Secondly the

convergence of the sky appears very favorable.

On Monday the 20th it start with the appearance day of mother Sita &

Janava Devi and disappearance day of Madhu Pandita. On 22nd May it is the

Mohini Ekadasi, on 23rd is the appearance day of Mother Rukmini who is

the predominating queen of the Los Angeles Temple. The deities in the Los

Angeles Temple is known as RUKMINI KRSNA and that makes this area the new

Dwarka of the west. The 24th is the disappearance day of Jayananda

Prabhu, and 25th is the appearance day of Lord NRSIMHADEVA. Also the 25th

& 26th is the weekend of Prabhupada festival, which to the best of my

knowledge is the biggest gathering of KRSNA's devotees in the western

hemisphere. The 26th is the full moon night.

All of these are significant events and what makes all of these more

wonderful is the awesome alignment of the Planets. Venus is very bright

on the horizon around sunset, Jupiter is overhead and the convergence of

many other planets in close proximity of each other in the evening sky

appears to be complementing the events on the earth. The whole celestial

beauty is further enhanced by the waxing moon becoming full on the 26th.

The arts and science of Jyotir Shastra or Astrology is almost lost at the

present time and I do not know of any qualified Astrologer who can

interpret the influence of the Sun, Moon, Planets and the Stars. However

because of so many important events are occuring here on earth it is to

be understood that the alignment of the sky is very very auspicious.

So please set aside this very special Holy week and utilize the wonderful

events to be absorbed in KRSNA . Also if at all possible come and see us

in Los Angeles or new Dwarka Dhama. Your Menial Servant,

Ashokamrita.
