I have few questions, As you know, we are trying to present our

philosophy to the Buddhist, so we want to know more some of the

meaning of the words mentioned in the Buddhist teachings. These 3

words mana vijnana, alaya vijnana and amala vijnana. This is

important for my presentation. They also mention there are three more

stages above these 3 platforms of consciousness, but the Chinese

Buddhist cannot find terms to describe them, nor do they have clear

understandings about them. It is said that the Tibetan Buddhist they

know the other stages, and they have scriptures describe them.

According to their philosophy, there are totally 12 stages of

consciousness:

eyes,ears,tounge,touch,nose,mind, mana vijnana,alaya vijnana, amala

vijnana, 10th stage, 11th stage and 12th stage.

Also, is there any possibility that the other stages are realted to

our Vaisnava philosophy? i.e. different stages in bhakti-marga.

Chinese Buddhist is not the same as the Indian Buddhist, may be there

is something mentioned in the scriptures of traditional Buddhist.

Thanks for your attention.

Haribol.

A few years ago I was experimenting with the

possibilities of having my own webpage, and I

transcribed an article from an old Back To Godhead

magazine by Mathuresa das about Buddhism.

To my surprise, I found that it is still online and

you can view it at:

http://maxpages.com/philosophy/Buddha

There was also another article on Buddhism in BTG a

few months ago by Satyaraja prabhu, I believe.

Hope this helps. Haribol!

Sanjay
