Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada. om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya om namo bhagavate vasudevaya Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.7.45 "The brahmanas said : Dear Lord, You are sacrifice personified. You are the offering of the clarified butter, You are the fire, You are the chanting of Vedic hymns by which the sacrifice is conducted, You are the fuel, You are the flame, You are the kusha grass, and You are the sacrificial pots. You are the priests who perform the yajna, You are the demigods headed by Indra, and You are the sacrificial animal. Everything that is sacrificed is You or Your energy." Srila Prabhupada teaches us (partial purport) "In this statement Lord Vishnu's all-pervasiveness is partially explained. It is said in the Vishnu Purana that as a fire is situated in one place emanates its heat and illumination everywhere, so whatever we see within the material or spiritual worlds is nothing but a manifestation of different energies emanating from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The brahmanas' statement is that Lord Vishnu is everything... He is everything. It is confirmed herein that the performance of sankirtana-yagna in this age is as good as all other yajnas in all other ages. If one performs sankirtan-yajna by chanting Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare, there is no need to arrange elaborate paraphernalia for the prescribed sacrificial ceremonies recommended in the Vedas. In the chant of the holy names, Hare and Krsna, Hare means the energy of Krsna, and Krsna is the vishnu-tattva. Combined together they are everything...if one simply chants Hare Krsna, it is to be understood that he is performing all kinds of yajna because there is nothing within our vision except Hare and Krsna. There is no difference between Krsna and His energies. Thus since everything is a manifestation of His energy, it is to be understood that everything is Krsna. One simply has to accept everything in Krsna consciousness, and he is a liberated person. One should not misunderstand that because everything is Krsna, Krsna has no personal identity. Krsna is so full that in spite of keeping Himself separate from everything by His energy, He is everything. This is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita, Ninth Chapter. He is spread throughout the creation as everything, but still He is not everything. The philosophy recommended by Lord Chaitanya is that He is simultaneously one and different." **************************** The following is a short excerpt from a lecture given by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, in Edinburgh, July 17, 1972, on Srimad-Bhagavatam, Canto 1 Chapter 2 Text 5 -- Pradyumna: "O sages, I have been justly questioned by you. Your questions are worthy because they relate to Lord Krsna and so are of relevance to the world's welfare. Only questions of this sort are capable of completely satisfying the self." Prabhupada: So questioning about Krsna and answering the question is krsna-katha. So here it is recommended that if we are constantly engaged in krsna-katha about Krsna, talking about Krsna, questioning about Krsna, then atma suprasidati. We are hankering after peacefulness of our heart, peacefulness of our atmosphere. So here it is recommended that simply by inquiring about Krsna and taking answer of the question, both the questioner and the answer-giver, both will be pleased. Yenatma suprasidati. Therefore Caitanya Mahaprabhu ordered, yare dekha, tare kaha krsna-upadesa. The world is like the blazing fire in the forest. So this krsna-katha, this Krsna consciousness movement, will give them relief. Yenatma suprasidati. And the Suta Gosvami said, "Your question is very pious question, sadhu, because it is about Krsna."... ****************************** (The following is taken from "My Relationship With Lord Krsna" by HIs Holiness Satswarupa das Goswami, p.41) "...Turn to Him, turn to Him. We really don't need to have our minds completely jammed with sensory input. Our bodies function automatically. The heart beats, the breaths go on. We will survive or not survive, but we can keep our minds fixed on Krsna. We don't have to make feverish effort to survive. Our survival is not in our power. All that's in our power is to remain fixed on Krsna or not..." **************************************** Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare ***************************************** your grateful servant... ######################################################################
